Cave Canoeing
Lower Dover's western boundary is on Big Barton Creek, the headwaters originate up stream from Barton Creek Cave. Access to the cave is through a Mennonite settlement, an added treat. Guides provide canoe trips into the cave where in addition to wonderful formations; you can see the calcified remains of Mayan burials. As an option, have fun horseback riding to Barton Creek Cave over forested river and farmland trails.
This Barton Creek Cave Tour picks up at 9:00 am and goes until 3.30p, with a 45min drive to the cave.
At the entrance of the cave canoes with spot lights and life jackets are placed in the water for tour into the cave. . At the end of the cave tour guests have the option of swimming or return to town.
